How to Play Craps

Objective of Craps
The object of Craps is to predict the outcome of a roll of the dice.

Placing Bets
To place a chip on the table, move the mouse pointer to that part of the table where you want to put the chip and press the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON. This will put a chip on the table at your chosen position.

To increase the value of your bet, keep the mouse pointed at the same spot and continue to press the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON. Each time you press the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON, the count number inside the chip will increase, showing you the value of the chip that you have placed in that position.

To decrease the value of a chip on the table, press the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON. When your chip value is 0, it will automatically be removed from the table. You can use this method to remove chips that you no longer want on the table. Click on the chip with the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON until it disappears.

Helpful Hint
To speed up the placing of your bets on the table, press the CTRL or the SHIFT key when pressing the left or right mouse button. When the CTRL key is held down, the chip value will increase/decrease with each mouse click by an amount of 5 credits. The SHIFT key has a similar effect except it results in an increase/decrease of 20 credits!

Types of Bets
There are several types of bets that can be placed on the craps table:

The Pass line Bet This is the most popular bet at the Craps Table. A wager on the Pass Line wins if the first roll of the dice (the Come Out Roll) is a 7 or 11 and loses if a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled first. If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 is rolled, that number becomes the Point. To win the bet, the player (or shooter) must repeat the Point before a 7 is rolled. If the Shooter rolls a 7 before the Point is repeated, the Pass Line bet loses. A winning bet is paid even money. Once the point has been established, this bet may not be removed or altered.

The Don't Pass Bet This bet is the opposite of the Pass Line bet. This bet wins if the shooter rolls a 2 or 3 on the Come Out roll and loses immediately if a 7 or 11 is rolled on the Come Out. If a 12 is rolled, it's a tie and play continues. Once the point has been established, this bet wins if the shooter rolls a 7 before the point is repeated

The Come Bet Come Bets may be wagered after the point has been established on the Come Out roll. The rules for this bet are the same as the Pass Line bet. If the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 after a Come Bet has been placed, the dealer will move the Come Bet from the Come area to the corresponding box for that particular number. Just as with the Pass Line bet, this wager may not be reduced or removed until play is completed. A winning wager is paid even money.

The Don't Come Bet This bet is the opposite of the Come Bet. It may be wagered any time after the point has been established on the Come Out Roll. If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 is rolled after a Don't Come Bet has been placed, the dealer will move the wager from the Don't Come area to the corresponding box for that particular number. The rules for winning are the same as the Don't Pass Bet. A winning wager is paid even money.

Odds Bet This is an additional bet made on a Pass, Don't Pass, Come or Don't Come Bet that has already been placed. Odds bets can only be made once the point has been established. The advantage of an odds bet is that it is paid out at the correct odds.

Win Bet Place Bets to Win can be made at any time on numbers 4,5,6,8,9,or 10. Shooter wins if the place number is rolled before a 7; otherwise it loses.

Lose Bet Is opposite to a place bet to Win. Shooter wins if 7 is rolled before the place number; otherwise, if the Place number is rolled first, the shooter loses.

Field Bet This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays even money if a 3,4,9,10 or 11 is thrown and double if a 2 or 12 is thrown.

Hardways Bet Whenever a shooter rolls doubles and the outcome is a 4, 6, 8 or 10 the shooter is said to have hit the number the "hard way," that is, by rolling doubles. If any of these same numbers are rolled and the outcome is not doubles, the shooter is said to have hit the number the "easy way." Example: If the shooter rolls a pair of 4's he has a Hard 8, or 8 the Hardway; if the shooter rolls a 6 and 2 he has an 8 the Easy Way. A Hard 10 would be a pair of 5's, while 10 the "easy way" would be a 6 and 4.

Possible Hardway bets are 4, 6, 8 or 10. A Hardway bet wins when the shooter rolls a number the Hardway. A Hardway Bet loses if the shooter rolls a number the Easy Way or if the shooter rolls a 7.

Any Seven This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 5 for 1 (4 to 1) if a seven is made in the next throw.

Any Craps This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 8 for 1 (7 to 1) if a 2, 3 or 12 is made in the next throw.

Craps Two This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 30 to 1 if a 2 is made in the next throw.

Craps Twelve This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 30 to 1 if a 12 is made in the next throw.

Craps Three This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 15 to 1 if a 3 is made in the next throw.

Eleven This is a bet on the outcome of the next throw. It pays 15 to 1 if an 11 is made in the next throw.

Horn This is a single roll bet on any craps (2,3 or 12) and 11. Odds are paid out accordingly.

Betting Details
To the right of the 'Roll the Dice' button are your betting details: the total value of chips you currently have on the table and the total payout you received on the last throw.

Rolling the Dice
Once you have placed your bets on the table, press the 'Roll the Dice' button. This will set the dice rolling. When they come to rest, the game will automatically highlight the winning single roll and Hardway combinations (except for the field bet).

When a Point is established, the relevant chips on the Pass and Don't Pass lines will be moved to their respective positions above or below the relevant number and will turn red. The red chip indicates that it cannot be removed from the table. Come and Don't Come bets are treated similarly.

Players cannot roll the dice unless they have at least 1 credit on the table.

Making an Odds Bet

If the Pass Bet wins, the original Pass Bet is paid at 1 to 1; the supplemental wager is paid at the true odds described later in this section.

Clicking on the box in which the red chips is placed or clicking on the red chip itself makes an odds bet. When making an odds bet a second, blue chip appears displaying the number of credits being bet for the odds bet. This chip will remain blue indicating that it can be removed from the table at any time. The odds bet can be increased or decreased using the left/right mouse button respectively.
